The brain only sees what you look for.

If you focus on drama, you build a dramatic company. If you focus on what your employees are doing wrong, you build a negative culture. The output always reflects the input.

The difference between elite and average business owners isn’t intelligence or talent. It’s focused control. Elite owners focus on revenue, lead generation, recruiting, training, systems, culture, vision, and personal growth. Average owners focus on emails, small problems, complaints about employees, and minor issues that don’t grow revenue, don’t grow people, and don’t grow the company.

Most business owners don’t fail because they’re stupid, and most don’t fail because they’re lazy. Their focus is absolutely scattered. Both groups stay busy. Only one is building something.

Your emotions don’t come from your business. They come from what you focus on in your business. Focus on everything that’s wrong, and you feel overwhelmed. Focus on competition, and you feel insecure. Focus on the big vision and the opportunities in front of you, and you feel empowered, driven, and in control. The business hasn’t changed. Your focus has.

This is the hard truth most people don’t want to hear: you’re not stuck because of your circumstances. You’re stuck because of your focus. Change your focus, and you change how you think. Change how you think, and you change how you act. Change how you act, and you change your business. Change your business, and you change your life.
